Brady Kirchberg did a fantastic job as our inaugural Club speaker for the season. On Thursday, July 30, Twenty-five Zoom participants (actually more, as there was more than one member present on several of the Zooms) were glued to their screens, listening with rapt attention to Brady’s inside look at how the movie/TV industry functions. Detailed descriptions of Brady’s responsibilities as a location manager, leading him toward production management, were eye-opening, to say the least. Questions from the group were rapidly fired and Brady was engaging and funny with his responses.
For those who missed Brady, you can watch the recording here: Brady Kirchberg talk recording.
Unfortunately, Martie Janeway, the host of the talk, forgot to press the recording button until well into Brady’s eloquent introduction! So, there’s a rough beginning to the recording – but the gist of what Brady said in his introduction included the following: his theatrical beginnings on the SPSS stage with many of those productions directed by his mother Stacey Coates; a graduate of Bowdoin College with a Psychology major/Theater minor, finding his way in NYC in the acting field, waiting tables, many a call back for parts but just missing out, until ending up currently as a location and production manager in movie and TV media field. This is where the recording picks up.
Much gratitude to Brady for a great talk!
