Club Chatter

A LETTER TO OUR MEMBERS

On August 30, 1895, documents were signed for the creation of a corporation whose purpose was ‘to own and maintain a clubhouse for our mutual social intercourse.’

Dear Small Point Club Members,

The Club Board hopes you all are faring well these winter days, despite the COVID situation and other world stresses. We are busy planning a respite from these uncontrollable worries for the summer months at Small Point. The season will open, barring unforeseen circumstances, under the same policies in place as last year**. As you are aware, […]

Holiday Community Charitable Giving

And to our Phippsburg  Community Organizations    As we approach the time of year that traditionally represents giving and gratefulness, Martie Janeway has asked me to compile a list of nonprofits/causes that are based here, so we could be informed and show our generosity to those organizations that make Phippsburg a special community. Note that this is not an exhaustive list—just a few suggestions.

Many thanks in advance for your generosity!

SP Preservation Fund Annual Request

Summer of 2021 marked an impressive comeback for the Club, after a challenging year.  The success of the Clubhouse this past summer is a wonderful example of the dedicated community here in Small Point. Despite the assaults of time and weather over the last hundred plus years, the Club has returned as that charming and inviting place to gather with friends and family to celebrate the summer traditions that sustain us as a community.

The job of the SPC Preservation Fund is to protect these traditions by maintaining the […]

~ From the SPC President ~

The Small Point Club annual meeting was held last Sunday. I realize that most of you could not attend and wanted to give you a small taste of what was said. Manager Bob Kennedy and Chef Rob have given us a summer to remember. A full time staff of four and two part time employees did the work of a staff that should have been double that number. 300 plus guests have stayed at the Club. The staff has served over 1500 meals and 3,500 cocktails […]

Oh, What a Night!

What do we get when we mix lights, music, dancing, a very elegantly boxed, delicious picnic dinner of lobster, filet of beef, and mixed berry tart with an enthusiastic, fun loving group of folks? A magical night and generous fundraising results for our dear Small Point Club. “Dancing in the Street” was a success in every way and set the bar high for future Club events. Kudos to our auctioneers Grey Terry and Jessica Gray; Rob Tenney for her leadership and vision for this event; her fundraising […]
