A couple of weeks ago in Tidings we heralded the opening of the summer Club season with, what was meant to be, a gentle reminder of a few policies. Our intention was twofold: to overcome members’ confusion and to help Roe by stating the Board support of policies we were asking her to implement.
We have received feedback from our members that our tone was a bit draconian. We wish to apologize for giving that impression; our mission is to ensure all who participate in activities, events, and meals always feel welcomed and valued at the place we collectively cherish.
We have also responded to feedback regarding the requirement of long pants for indoor evening dining. We have listened… and revised our recommendation to long pants or dress shorts. As some of us recalled, years ago the information notebook in each room stated dress shorts were allowed as long as KNEE SOCKS were worn as well. We’ll let go of that particular requirement…but won’t object if anyone wishes to do so!
