Dear SPC members, families, and friends,
We can all agree that the past months have been strange and unsettling, different in so many ways as a result of the continuing danger of the covid virus in our communities. It has seemed particularly strange and sad this summer in Small Point not to have been able to open up the Club to in-person gatherings, events, and meals or to overnight guests. We want to say again how grateful we are to you all for understanding why the Board made this decision and why we are still maintaining the closure due to safety concerns. Many many thanks for supporting us anyway by paying your dues, attending our on-line art shows, book groups, and speaker series, and ordering our take-out meals.
It will come as no surprise to hear that we will not be having an annual meeting either in person or as a Zoom event this year. We have deferred all membership applications until next year. We will instead be sending out a report later in August with an overview of what the Board committees and minimal staff have been working on this summer as well as the new slate of officers.
We have missed seeing most of you in person this summer but we wish you well. Take care and stay safe.
