We are looking forward to this summer’s season at the Club and to welcoming you at our various events and gatherings starting with the Memorial Day weekend Sunday evening ‘Cocktails on the Porch’. Please join us then if you are there for the weekend.
This year we are opening as a B & B on June weekends as well as having the Club open for cocktails on Friday and Saturday nights 5-7 pm. Our official full service opening date is June 21st. June turns out to be a great time to be in Small Point, before the summer season gets into full swing. Put the Club on your radar screen if you are there in June.
We want to once again thank you all heartily for your support and active participation in the life of the Club over the last few years. Many years ago, when we lost Wyman’s store, we lost a place where we might just randomly but happily run into each other. For those of us who couldn’t be there all summer, it served as a touchstone, a way to find out who was in Small Point at the moment, a way to casually catch up with folks you might not see otherwise and a central gathering place for candy exchange, popsicle eating and the daily ritual of picking up the mail and a newspaper. We hope the Club is becoming more and more that kind of place – a place for community gatherings or random meetings or just a quiet moment on the porch appreciating the beauty of the beach and what it is to be in Small Point.
We also want to thank the people who have signed on as Sustaining Members this year. We are so grateful to those of you who are willing and able to support us in this additional way. Thank you!!!! Several of you noted that it wasn’t clear from this year’s dues invoice how to pay the recommended $550 amount. If you already paid your regular $425 dues, please feel free to send a check for the additional amount, made out to Small Point Club, to Ginny Chaput at the address below. (Please put “Sustaining Member” on the note line.) If you have not paid your dues, you may either send a check for $550 or just change the amount if you pay online directly from the invoice.
